After a year of ups and downs, Verizon wanted to reinvent their annual executive summit.

The goal for this summit was to inspire Verizon execs to challenge the status quo, explore uncharted territory, and think outside the box by viewing business challenges from new perspectives. We landed on this event anthem: “We don’t wait for the future. We build it.” As the leading art director for the event, I chose to illustrate this battle cry with a design system built around—interestingly enough—kaleidoscopes.

A NOTE ON THE ART DIRECTION:

Kaleidoscopes have beauty and symmetry that invite you to pause, to linger. By surrounding summit attendees with beautiful kaleidoscopic images, my goal was to provoke altered perspectives. After all, this wasn’t just a summit; this was an invitation for Verizon’s executive leadership to mold the future by seeing and doing things in ways they’d never considered before.
